Getting Started

How do I start treasure hunting?
Sign up for a free account, enable location access, and explore the map to find nearby treasures. Click on any treasure marker to view details and claim rewards when you're physically at the location.
Do I need to pay to use HuntStash?
No! HuntStash is completely free for treasure hunters. You earn money by finding and claiming treasures. Only businesses creating treasures pay platform fees.
What are the two treasure hunting modes?
Location-Based: Visit physical locations to claim treasures (available now). Task-Based: Complete online tasks like surveys and social shares from anywhere (coming soon).

Claims & Rewards

How do I claim a treasure?
Navigate to the treasure location shown on the map. When you're within the unlock radius (usually 20 meters), tap 'Claim Treasure'. Our GPS verification will confirm your location and credit the reward to your wallet.
Why was my claim rejected?
Claims can be rejected if: (1) You're not at the correct location, (2) GPS accuracy is too low, (3) The treasure has expired or been depleted, (4) You've already claimed it, or (5) Suspicious activity was detected.
How long does it take to receive rewards?
Most claims are verified instantly. In rare cases of suspicious activity, verification may take up to 7 days. You'll receive a notification once your claim is approved.
Can I claim the same treasure multiple times?
No, each treasure can only be claimed once per user account.

Wallet & Withdrawals

How do I withdraw my earnings?
Go to your Wallet, tap 'Withdraw', enter the amount (minimum ₦1,000), verify your phone number, add your bank account details, and confirm. Withdrawals are processed within 1-3 business days.
What is the minimum withdrawal amount?
The minimum withdrawal amount is ₦1,000. This helps reduce transaction fees.
Are there withdrawal fees?
Standard withdrawals incur a small processing fee (currently ₦50). Instant withdrawals may have higher fees.
Why do I need to verify my phone number?
Phone verification is required for withdrawals to prevent fraud and ensure account security. It's a one-time process.
What if my withdrawal fails?
Failed withdrawals are automatically returned to your HuntStash wallet. Common reasons include incorrect bank details, insufficient balance, or bank technical issues. Check your bank account information and try again.

Security & Privacy

Is my location data safe?
Yes! We only access your location when you attempt to claim a treasure, and we use industry-standard encryption. Your location history is not sold or shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How does GPS verification work?
When you claim a treasure, we verify that your GPS coordinates are within the specified unlock radius. This prevents fraud and ensures fair play for all users.
What happens if someone steals my account?
Contact us immediately at [email protected]. We'll freeze your account, investigate, and help you regain access. Enable two-factor authentication for extra security.
Can I use GPS spoofing apps?
Absolutely not! Using location spoofing, VPNs, or any tools to fake your location is strictly prohibited and will result in permanent account suspension and forfeiture of all earnings.

For Businesses

How do I create a treasure for my business?
Sign up, go to 'Create Treasure', set your location, reward type (cash, coupon, etc.), and budget. For cash rewards, you'll need to fund the treasure via Paystack. Our team may review it before publishing.
How much does it cost to create a treasure?
HuntStash charges a 10% platform fee on the total escrow amount for cash treasures. For example, if you offer ₦500 to 100 people (₦50,000 total), the fee is ₦5,000.
Can I track my treasure's performance?
Yes! View detailed analytics including views, claims, conversion rate, and geographic data in your treasure dashboard.
What if no one claims my treasure?
Unclaimed funds remain in escrow. If the treasure expires with unclaimed rewards, you can request a refund (minus platform fees) from your treasure dashboard.

Troubleshooting

The map won't load treasures
Try these steps: (1) Refresh the page, (2) Enable location access in your browser/app settings, (3) Check your internet connection, (4) Clear browser cache. If the issue persists, contact support.
Location services aren't working
Make sure location access is enabled for HuntStash in your device settings. For best results, enable 'High Accuracy' GPS mode. Some indoor locations may have weak GPS signals.
I can't see any nearby treasures
This could mean there are no active treasures in your area yet. Try expanding your search radius, or encourage local businesses to create treasures!
My withdrawal is stuck
Withdrawals typically process within 1-3 business days. If it's been longer, check your email for verification requests. Contact support at [email protected] with your transaction ID.
